These days, in the grounds of Dak Lak Museum, some cherry apricot trees have bloomed for the first time after 10 years being planted here.

The cherry apricot tree belongs to the family rosaceae, English name is Prunus cerasoides, is a species of temperate tree, distributed in East Asia and northern South Asia at elevations above 1000 m. This plant grows in temperate and subtropical forests at altitudes from 1,200 - 2,400 m, where the climate is cold. In Vietnam, this species is popular mainly in the Northern Midlands and Mountains, and the Central Highlands.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Anh, Deputy Head of the Collection and Exhibition Department, Museum of Dak Lak Province, said that in the museum's premises, about 10 cherry apricot trees were planted, which were donated by Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province in June 2012. . This is the first time some cherry apricot trees have bloomed, possibly due to the effect of cold weather during March and the first half of April. Cherry apricot blossoms only bloom for a period of time nearly 1 month and then fade away.
